Jonnette is the COO and Director of Community Engagement for Fiery Minds, Inc.  She is a wife, mother, and passionate education advocate with over 15 years of experience in teaching, administration, and program management.  Her career began as a Middle Grades Mathematics Teacher, where she discovered her passion for empowering youth and strengthening communities. She has since led various initiatives focused on equity, curriculum implementation, and community collaboration.  She serves as Board Chair of the Next Step Education Foundation and is a proud Parent Corp Ambassador for EdChoice. Her work centers on building programs and partnerships that bridge gaps and expand opportunities for families. She believes that all children are brilliant and have the capacity to defy all odds with unwavering support!

In 2017, Jessica Johnson founded Fiery Minds, Inc after recognizing a need for educational enrichment programs to address struggling school systems primarily affecting minority children.  Despite the best efforts of Fiery Minds and its team of volunteers, the pandemic has noticeably widened the gap in educational disparities.  

Jessica was born into a family of educators and her natural affinity for children and education has never wavered. Her belief is that establishing a foundation with high expectations and unchallenged confidence is the basis for success. For over 20 years, she has proudly served her community as a healthcare professional and patient advocate. As CEO of Fiery Minds, she collaborates with the Executive Leadership Team to cast the vision and develop curricula and programs to address the gaps in students' learning communities.
